Where You Will Be Working Nasittuq supports operations across the North Warning System (NWS), a network of remote sites located throughout Canada's Arctic. Based in North Bay, Ontario, you will provide technical expertise and training that supports the reliability, maintenance, and operational readiness of critical infrastructure and facilities systems across Canada's North. You will play a key role in supporting and developing Facilities Maintenance Technicians while contributing to the operation and sustainment of critical northern infrastructure. Whether delivering technical instruction, troubleshooting complex systems, or supporting field operations, your expertise will directly impact mission success across the North Warning System. What You'll Do: • Provide technical support and subject matter expertise to Facilities Maintenance Technicians, engineering teams, and operational personnel across the North Warning System. • Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex equipment and system failures while identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions. • Support the maintenance, inspection, and repair of facility systems including power generation, diesel engines, electrical distribution, HVAC systems, water and wastewater systems, and fire detection and suppression systems. • Develop, maintain, and enhance technical training programs based on operational requirements, equipment upgrades, and industry best practices. • Create and update training materials, including presentations, technical manuals, practical exercises, worksheets, and reference guides. • Deliver technical training through classroom instruction, webinars, workshops, hands-on learning activities, and one-on-one coaching sessions. • Support preventive maintenance programs and provide recommendations to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and lifecycle performance. • Assist with facility system installations, upgrades, modifications, investigations, and special projects. • Support Operations and Sustainment Engineering teams by conducting inspections, system assessments, maintenance reviews, and field investigations. • Perform preventive, corrective, and overhaul maintenance on diesel engines and associated facility equipment. • Maintain maintenance records, work orders, incident reports, technical documentation, and asset information within the maintenance management system. • Coordinate system downtime activities and verify operational readiness following maintenance and repair activities. • Promote compliance with safety, environmental, security, and quality management requirements. • Travel to North Warning System sites across Northern Canada to provide technical support, inspections, training, and maintenance assistance as required. Who You Are: CREDENTIALS: • Completion of a post-secondary program in Electromechanical Systems or a recognized Electrical or Mechanical trade certification. • Canadian Forces military technical equivalent qualifications may be considered. • Valid Class G Driver's Licence or provincial/territorial equivalent. • CFAA Certification or eligibility to obtain certification is considered an asset. • Standard First Aid with CPR certification is considered an asset. EXPERIENCE: • Minimum five years of experience working in a commercial, industrial, facilities maintenance, utilities, telecommunications, defence, or infrastructure environment. • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, HVAC, diesel generation, or building systems. • Experience developing and delivering technical training programs is considered a strong asset. • Experience supporting remote sites, critical infrastructure, or operational SKILLS: • Strong knowledge of building electrical, mechanical, diesel engine, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, wastewater, and fire protection systems. • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals, specifications, and maintenance documentation. • Proficiency using commercial diagnostic equipment, testing instruments, and troubleshooting tools. • Strong communication, presentation, coaching, and facilitation skills. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel. • Experience with Maximo, PLC systems, SCADA systems, or computerized maintenance management systems is considered an asset. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. • Ability to travel regularly to remote northern locations and work in physically demanding environments when required. • Please note that employment at North Warning System is conditional upon obtaining and maintaining a Secret Level Security Clearance. Requires a postsecondary program in electromechanical systems or military equivalent and at least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience. Proficiency in reading technical drawings and experience in training delivery is highly valued.
