Pharmasave #148 is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Nelson, British Columbia. This is a 12-month term position with the potential for extension or conversion to a permanent role. Compensation listed is a starting point only and will be determined based on the candidate's experience. Patient Focused Care Responsibilities: Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner Assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy with a preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business is an asset Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software Kroll (training will be provided) Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Schedule: 36 - 40 hours per week (Full-time) The store is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The regular shifts will be on weekdays, with occasional weekend flexibility as needed Compensation & Benefits: Paid vacation Comprehensive health and dental benefits Opportunity for career growth and professional development support Who We Are: Neighbourly Pharmacy is Canada’s largest and fastest growing network of community pharmacies.
