Scotland's Railway is part of this large family and it covers a large geographical area from the Borders to Thurso at the far tip of the North East of Scotland, accounting for almost 20 per cent of the UK rail network. We provide rapid access along busy commuter routes to our seven cities, servicing the varied needs of our business and leisure commuter services, including cross border services and rural services. We have up to 50 freight services operating every day and we are steadily building capacity for this to grow. We actively challenge unsafe practices and take responsibility for addressing risks, resolving issues and protecting safety and wellbeing. About The Role This is a Full-Time Permanent position. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating and optimising all agreed work activities within the section to ensure safe, efficient and compliant delivery. You will produce Safe Systems of Work, submit green zone access and isolation requests, and develop draft quarterly plans to support short¿ and medium¿term operational objectives. A key part of the role involves managing weekly Plan¿Do¿Review meetings and representing Section Managers at planning meetings, ensuring clear communication and effective stakeholder engagement. You will also be accountable for maintaining high¿quality records by accurately updating systems, databases and infrastructure maintenance documentation. Through careful collation and management of planning and maintenance records, you will support informed decision¿making, performance monitoring and continuous improvement across the section. Key Accountabilities Plan and optimise all agreed work activities for the section. Accurately update systems, databases and records as required. Produce Safe System of Work plans. Submit green zone access and isolation requests. Produce draft quarterly plans. Manage weekly Plan-Do-Review meetings. Represent Section Managers at planning meetings. Requires proficiency in work planning, resource optimisation, and knowledge of access and possession processes. Candidates should possess Core Planning Skills Level 2 and strong organisational and communication abilities.
