Job Title: Senior IT Project Manager Location: Remote – Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (Travel for on-site meetings up to 3 times per month) Employment Type: Contract About the Role We are seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to lead and deliver complex technology initiatives involving cloud services, Microsoft 365, and Artificial Intelligence. The successful candidate will manage projects from planning and requirements through implementation, while coordinating stakeholders, resources, risks, governance, and change activities. Key Responsibilities Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple IT projects, including cloud, M365, and AI initiatives. Develop project charters, schedules, plans, budgets, resource plans, and governance structures. Manage project scope, risks, dependencies, milestones, issues, and deliverables. Collaborate with business leaders, technical teams, vendors, sponsors, and project stakeholders. Gather and document business and technical requirements and ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture. Provide recommendations regarding resources, dependencies, methodologies, policies, and implementation approaches. Prepare project status reports, presentations, steering committee materials, and other project documentation. Coordinate project teams and establish priorities to ensure timely delivery. Support change management, communications, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and business readiness activities. Ensure project deliverables follow established PMO standards, processes, and governance. Evaluate project outcomes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Mandatory Skills & Qualifications PMP certification is required. 15+ years of experience developing and managing complex project schedules. 15+ years of experience identifying, analyzing, and managing project risks on large/complex projects. 5+ years of experience implementing large-scale cloud-based projects and services. Demonstrated experience managing IT projects through planning, execution, implementation, and closure. Strong experience with project governance, stakeholder management, requirements, dependencies, and reporting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Preferred Skills 10+ years of experience developing and delivering complex technology projects. 7+ years working with the impact of organizational policies, processes, and procedures on technology projects. 15+ years leading stakeholder meetings across technical and business groups. 15+ years managing large-scale projects using Agile and Waterfall methodologies. 15+ years applying security controls within project solutions and designs. 15+ years supporting Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning. 2+ years of experience implementing AI projects. 15+ years in process improvement, documentation, and requirements gathering. 7+ years of public-sector experience.
