Summary New Collar Collective is looking for a volunteer who is a CPA to join our Board of Directors. We are a non-profit animal rescue based out of Toronto, ON. Description Are you a growth-oriented, strategic thinker with a love for cats and dogs? New Collar Collective, a Toronto-based, 100% volunteer-run, non-profit animal rescue, is looking for a Director, Treasurer with accounting experience who would like to make a difference in the lives of animals in need. As a member of the Board of Directors, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and sustainability of this charity, making a profound impact on the lives of our animals and our community. This is a working Board Member position. Role: Director, Treasurer Commitment: 12 month term Compensation: Volunteer Time commitment is approximately 3 to 5 hours per week. Responsibilities: Prepare for and attend monthly Board meetings Oversee and ensure monthly settlement, bookkeeping and reconciliation of all transactions on a timely basis. Prepare financial statements, budgets, and reports for the Board, government, and operations as required. Complete government tax filings and liaise with external accountants as needed. Develop and implement fiscal policies and procedures. Support organizational strategy and financial sustainability. Collaborate with Team Leads and other operational volunteers as needed. Chair the Finance Committee and participate in other committees. Support the organization’s mission by performing other tasks as needed, and participating in fundraising initiatives. Requirements: Professional experience in accounting; designation as a Chartered Professional Accountant an asset. Experience with specific charity and not-for-profit accounting and regulations are an asset. Experience with Quickbooks Online is required.
