SHIFT REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must be able to work any of the following shifts, as production needs may change. Shift preference is assigned by seniority. Position Summary As a Production Welder, you will perform MIG and TIG welding in a CWB-regulated environment to build structural and body components for heavy-duty transit buses. You will work from blueprints and weld symbols to produce consistent, high-quality welds that meet safety, durability, and production standards. WHY JOIN US: Be a part of a team leading the world's electrification of mass mobility Competitive Wages and comprehensive benefit package with Immediate benefit eligibility Paid holidays and vacation 401K with generous company match / or Registered pension plan with generous company match) Passionate about creating a better product, a better workplace, and a better world Inclusive workplace culture that values and empowers team members On-the-job training in a continuous learning environment (we invested $15.9 million in 2024) Advancement opportunities within our family of companies We are proudly named one of Manitoba's Top 25 employers What You Will Do Perform MIG welding on structural frames, brackets, and bus body components to CWB standards Perform TIG welding on thinner materials and specialty components (where required) Fit, clamp, square, grind, and prep parts prior to welding to ensure proper alignment and tolerances Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and build documentation to determine weld locations and sequence Complete multi-pass welds, overhead welds, vertical welds, and confined-space welds depending on the build area Visually inspect welds for porosity, undercut, cracks, and proper bead profile, performing rework when required Use tools such as grinders, clamps, measuring tapes, levels, squares, and jigs Follow standard work, CWB procedures, and build sequences to maintain consistency and repeatability Work with fabricators, weld team members, and area leads to hit daily TAKT times and production targets Maintain welding equipment (liners, tips, gas flow, wire speed, etc.) and troubleshoot basic weld defects Follow all safety requirements, use proper PPE, and maintain a clean, organized workstation What You Need CWB certification is an asset; must have the ability and willingness to obtain CWB certification Proficient MIG welding skills (TIG experience or willingness to learn is an asset) Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols Strong attention to detail and consistent weld quality Physically able to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods Reliable, safety-focused, and able to meet production timelines Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as required OUR WHY: We exist to move people.
