SUPPLIER EXCELLENCE & READINESS ASSESSMENT LEAD Canada Full-Time, Remote NFI is a leading global bus manufacturer of mass mobility solutions under the brands New Flyer® (heavy-duty transit buses), MCI® (motor coaches), Alexander Dennis (single and double-deck buses), ARBOC® (low-floor cutaway and medium-duty buses), and NFI Parts™. POSITION SUMMARY: The Supplier Excellence & Readiness Assessment Lead is responsible for leading comprehensive supplier assessments that evaluate operational readiness, supply continuity, business risk, scalability, and long-term supplier capability. This is a unique opportunity to help establish and shape NFI's Supplier Excellence & Readiness Assessment program, a new strategic function focused on proactively identifying supplier risks, strengthening supplier performance, and supporting the long-term resilience of NFI's global supply chain. As the overall assessment owner, you will integrate findings from manufacturing and quality specialists to provide executive-level insight into supplier readiness, risk exposure, and improvement opportunities. As part of NFI's Supplier Development team, you will play a critical role in identifying supplier risks before they impact production, delivery performance, or business growth. WHY JOIN US: Be part of a team leading the world's electrification of mass mobility Competitive Wages and comprehensive benefit package with Immediate benefit eligibility Paid holidays and vacation Registered pension plan with generous company match Passionate about creatinga better product, a better workplace, and a better world Inclusive workplace culture that values and empowers team members On-the-job training in a continuous learning environment (we invested $15.9 million in 2024) Advancement opportunities within our family of companies We are proudly named one of Manitoba's Top 25 employers WHAT YOU WILL DO: Lead end-to-end supplier readiness assessments across critical suppliers Define assessment scope based on supplier risk, business impact, and strategic importance Evaluate supplier leadership effectiveness, organizational structure, accountability, and business management processes Assess demand planning, forecast management, order management, and supply chain planning capabilities Evaluate supply continuity risks, long lead-time material strategies, and tier-two supplier dependencies Assess supplier readiness for growth, business changes, relocations, ERP implementations, and operational disruptions Identify business, supply chain, operational, and organizational risks that may impact performance Consolidate manufacturing, quality, and supply chain assessment findings into a comprehensive readiness evaluation Develop risk ratings, assessment reports, gap analyses, and supplier improvement roadmaps Present findings and recommendations to supplier executives and internal stakeholders Lead supplier corrective action governance, follow-up activities, and risk mitigation efforts Support sourcing, supplier development, and supplier risk management strategies across the organization Requirements WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, supplier development, supplier risk management, manufacturing operations, or related leadership roles Strong understanding of demand planning, ERP/MRP systems, forecasting, capacity management, and supply continuity risk Experience evaluating supplier business operations, financial stability, organizational effectiveness, and long-term capability Demonstrated success leading supplier escalation, recovery, and improvement initiatives Experience presenting findings and influencing executive stakeholders Strong business acumen with the ability to identify systemic risks and improvement opportunities Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills Experience in aerospace, automotive, transportation, heavy equipment, electronics, or other complex manufacturing environments Ability to travel up to 50% Benefits Salary Range: $140,000-$170,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
