Job Title : Payroll Specialist Contract Duration: 6 months Start Date: ASAP Pay Rate: CAD $27.78/Hour Work Location: Waterloo, Mississauga, or Richmond Hill Work Schedule: 4 days per week in the office until September, then 100% in-office thereafter. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time while complying with U.S. payroll regulations. The role is part of the Global Human Resources team and supports payroll operations for U.S. entities, with opportunities to gain experience in Canadian payroll. Key Responsibilities Process payroll accurately and within established payroll deadlines. Enter, validate, and audit payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance. Review payroll reports and reconcile payroll results to identify and resolve discrepancies. Investigate and resolve payroll-related issues and employee inquiries within service level agreements (SLAs). Administer Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP) payroll transactions. Maintain payroll records while ensuring confidentiality and data integrity. Collaborate with Human Resources, Finance, and Payroll team members to support payroll operations. Provide excellent customer service to employees and internal stakeholders. Assist with payroll process improvements and support scalable payroll operations. Required Qualifications 2–3 years of experience in U.S. and/or Canadian payroll. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. Professionalism, confidentiality, and initiative. Payroll certifications such as FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) or PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) are preferred, while NPI or PayrollOrg membership is considered an asset.
