Summary: We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a broad range of financial accounting activities, including general accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, financial reporting, and financial analysis. The role will work closely with the finance team and other departments to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Excel, and Power BI will be valuable in supporting accounting and reporting activities. What You'll Do: Financial Accounting & Month-End Close Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, reclassifications, and other month-end entries. Perform general accounting activities for multiple companies and currencies. Support Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, project accounting, inventory, fixed assets, and other accounting functions as required. Participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes. Monitor and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness. Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and maintain appropriate supporting documentation. Financial Reporting & Analysis Prepare monthly internal financial reports and supporting schedules. Prepare actual vs. budget and month-over-month variance analysis. Assist with quarterly and annual financial reporting, including financial statements and related schedules. Assist with technical accounting research and documentation in accordance with IFRS. Analyze revenue, costs, gross margins, project profitability, and other financial information. Use Power BI and Excel to extract, analyze, and present financial information to support management decision-making. Audit, Tax & Compliance Prepare audit schedules and provide supporting documentation for external audits. Assist with corporate tax filings, government reporting, and other compliance requirements. Support the implementation and monitoring of internal financial controls. Systems & Other Responsibilities Perform accounting activities and maintain financial data within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Assist with accounting system testing, reporting, and system changes as required. Participate in finance-related digital transformation and process improvement initiatives. Work with Finance, Operations, Sales, and other departments to resolve accounting and financial issues. Participate in special accounting and financial projects and perform other duties as assigned. What You'll Bring: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2+ years of accounting experience; public accounting or industry experience is an asset. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and IFRS. Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial analysis. Experience with multi-company and multi-currency transactions is an asset. Experience with inventory, project, or cost accounting is an asset. Experience with a large ERP system; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience is preferred. Strong Excel skills; Power BI experience is an asset. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to resolving issues. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a changing environment. Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
