Position Scope NACG is seeking a Journeyperson Machinist at our Acheson Shop location. This is your opportunity to join one of the safest and largest contracts in the region. For this role, NACG offers a combined gross rate of up to $58.35/hour as well as room for growth! Where You’ll Be Working Location: Acheson Schedule: 7x7 - 12 hours, days Hourly Rate: Up to $58.35 per hour Overtime: After 44 hours in a week or designated day off Incentives: Tool Allowance, Boot Allowance, Benefits The successful candidate will be required to join the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955. Responsibilities What You’ll Be Doing Set up and operation of portable line-boring, facing, and bore welding equipment (95% of the work scope) Set-up and operation of manual machine tools including lathes, drills, milling machines (5% of the work scope) Perform repairs and fabrication on components according to customer specifications and technical drawings Develop and follow defined work scopes and maintain accurate documentation. Complete detailed work orders and reports as required Mentor and evaluate apprentices in accordance with company standards Follow all company codes of practice, safety procedures, and site-specific requirements Qualifications What Makes You the ONE Journeyperson Machinist certificate or Interprovincial Red Seal 1-2 years of experience working with heavy equipment Portable line boring experience is required. Experience with York equipment is preferred Experience operating horizontal lathes, radial arm drills, and milling machines is preferred Welding experience is preferred Able to read technical drawings and interpret salvage specifications Strong measuring, documentation, and quality control skills Proficiency in English, both written and verbal Intermediate computer skills Strong interpersonal skills Summary What's Next If you are chosen to move forward in our hiring process for a site-based role, you will be asked to provide the following: Provide a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and ability to provide a recent Driver’s Abstract Valid Journeyperson or Red Seal ticket Be subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites Undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing: Breath Alcohol Test Urine Drug Test Fitness-to-Work Health Assessment Audiometric Testing Vision Screening Criminal Record Check Once dispatched the following processes will occur: Will receive a call from NACG to set up all required pre-employment testing An email will be sent with all required New Hire Paperwork to be filled out After all results and paperwork are received by NACG, candidates will be contacted by Site Admin to schedule orientation and confirm your start date and other site-specific details.
