Northern Lights Public Schools invites applications for the following position: S2627-40 Temporary Educational Assistant - Nelson Heights School We are seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Temporary Educational Assistant commencing at the start of the 2026-2027 school year and until November 15, 2026. This assignment involves assisting with student educational program needs including social skills, behaviour skills, self-help and personal care needs. This position requires a compassionate and energetic individual to work in a team environment. Nelson Heights School is located in the City of Cold Lake with approximately 250 students in Grades 4 to 6. With a continued focus on academics, moral intelligence, athletics, and fine arts, Nelson Heights School provides a well rounded program that will nurture students through their formative years. Preference Will Be Given To Applicants Who Have Post-Secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant Knowledge and experience with behavioral strategies Experience working one-on-one and/or in group settings Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategies Experience assisting students with self-help and personal care needs Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans Training And Skills That Would Be An Asset Include Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing and/or rehabilitation SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training How To Apply Interested applicants can apply via Apply to Education as per the instructions on the Northern Lights Public Schools Website.
