API Integration Architect

Northwest Partners is supporting a major enterprise technology initiative and is seeking an experienced API Integration Architect to help design and modernize enterprise integration capabilities. This role will define API standards, establish secure and scalable integration patterns, and provide technical leadership across multiple delivery teams building cloud-based enterprise solutions. What YOU will do • Lead the API and integration intake process across multiple enterprise initiatives • Define, document, and govern API contract standards for RESTful and event-driven integrations • Design secure integration architectures using OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and tokenization best practices • Establish scalable synchronous, asynchronous, and event-driven integration patterns • Configure and support API gateway and enterprise integration platforms • Design and support event streaming solutions using Kafka or AWS MSK • Align API contracts with enterprise canonical data models and integration governance standards • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable integration solutions • Provide hands-on technical leadership, architecture guidance, and support to delivery teams • Review solution designs to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and best practices What YOU will bring us • Extensive experience designing enterprise API and integration architectures • Strong expertise with REST APIs, AsyncAPI, OAuth2, and OpenID Connect • Experience implementing API gateways and enterprise integration platforms (iPaaS) • Strong understanding of API governance, lifecycle management, and integration best practices • Experience with Kafka, AWS MSK, or comparable event streaming technologies • Knowledge of tokenization, data protection, and secure integration principles • Experience designing cloud-based integration solutions and microservices architectures • Strong implementation and architecture experience within complex enterprise environments • Ability to work independently while providing technical leadership across multiple initiatives • Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills Disclaimer: All candidates will be asked to briefly show a government-issued ID on video during the first interview.
