We are currently seeking a Litigation Law Clerk to join the Litigation practice group in our Toronto office. Our Litigation team in Toronto is highly regarded for its sophistication and deep expertise, advising our clients on complex, high-value and sensitive commercial disputes. Our practice comprises the full spectrum of dispute resolution and litigation cases, involving general commercial, securities litigation, insolvency, construction, regulatory, and product liability matters as well as shareholder activism mandates. Our law clerks play an essential role in these matters and on our teams, making a meaningful impact on our clients and business. The ideal candidate will possess: a Law Clerk Diploma/Certificate or the equivalent in experience; 2-5 years of related private practice experience; excellent knowledge of MS Office product suite (including Word, Outlook and Excel) and experience with or openness to legal industry-related AI tools such as Harvey and Co-Pilot; exceptional client service, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills as well as strong drive, attention to detail and initiative; and general familiarity with Superior Court rules and filing protocols. The principal responsibilities of the successful candidate will include: assisting lawyers with litigation files, including organizing files and documents; interacting with clients and lawyers in the firm to obtain information and report verbally and in writing on the status of files; summarizing transcripts of discovery and cross-examinations, lists refusals and undertakings; assembling answers to undertakings; preparing bills of costs; preparing charts, chronologies and summaries of documents for use at discovery and trial; assisting professionals/staff from Norton Rose Fulbright’s other offices to obtain documentation from courts; assisting with the billing and administrative reporting requirements for certain clients; and other administrative duties, as required. The salary for this position will be determined having regard to the level of experience and skillset of the successful candidate as well as the local market; however, we anticipate the relevant range to be $115,000 to $135,000.
