As a member of the collaborative care team, the Care Team Assistant is responsible for supporting patients' activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living. The Care Team Assistant also reinforces patient and family teaching according to established guidelines and the plan of care. The Care Team Assistant provides direct, hands-on care and supports patients' activities of daily living within a medical/surgical unit. They also reinforce patient and family teaching according to established guidelines and care plans.

Candidates must have a Continuing Care Assistant Program Provincial Certification and be active with the CCA Registry. Current Basic Life Support Certification is required, and proficiency in French is considered an asset.
