The Opportunity Company, Department: Nova Scotia Power, Energy Delivery Distribution Engineering Location: Sackville, Nova Scotia Type of Employment: Temporary, Full-Time (Winter 2027 Co-op Term: January - April 2027) Number of positions: 5 Closing Date: September 28, 2026 Are you an Industrial Engineering student who enjoys solving problems, working with data, and finding ways to improve how work gets done? As an Industrial Engineering Co-op with our Energy Delivery Scheduling team, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting the planning and continuous improvement of the work that helps keep Nova Scotia Power operating efficiently and safely. During the Winter 2027 Co-op term, you'll work alongside experienced professionals to analyze operational data, support process improvement initiatives, and develop tools that help teams make informed decisions. You'll gain practical experience with performance reporting, quality management processes, and information systems while contributing to projects that have a meaningful impact on day-to-day operations. This is an exciting opportunity for students who enjoy data analysis, process optimization, problem-solving, and applying engineering principles to real-world business challenges. What you’ll do: Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and team performance. Gather, analyze, and validate field productivity data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Review and assess work cycle times to support operational planning and decision-making. Create and enhance automated dashboards and reporting tools used to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs). Assist with performance tracking and reporting activities that support business objectives. Support quality management and document control processes to ensure information remains accurate, organized, and accessible. Maintain and update SharePoint sites and related content. Collaborate with operational teams and stakeholders to improve processes and information management practices. Who you are: We're looking for a motivated and analytical student who enjoys working with data, learning new systems, and finding opportunities to improve processes. You will be a strong candidate if you: Are currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, ideally in your second, third, or fourth year of study. Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Have the ability to develop automated dashboards and support KPI reporting. Have experience using computer applications and are comfortable learning new systems and technologies. Have an interest in operational performance, continuous improvement, and process optimization. Possess knowledge of document control practices and information management processes. Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Demonstrate initiative and a willingness to take ownership of projects and tasks. Are comfortable facilitating discussions, presenting information, and sharing recommendations.
