Second Stage Housing Support Worker Northern Society for Domestic Peace (NSDP) is seeking a compassionate and dependable Second Stage Housing Support Worker to join our On Her Way Second Stage Housing program. This position offers 22.5 hours/week with a comprehensive benefit package. The Resident Support Worker provides practical and emotional support to women and their children as they work toward safety, stability, and independent living. Working as part of a supportive team, this position helps residents identify goals, develop individualized service plans, access community resources, and navigate their transition into and out of second-stage housing. Key Responsibilities Support the screening, intake, orientation, and move-in process for new residents. Provide ongoing practical and emotional support to residents and their children. Assist residents with individualized goals, service plans, and safety needs. Provide advocacy, referrals, and connections to community resources and services. Participate in regular one-on-one meetings with residents. Assist with information sessions, support groups, celebrations, and community-building activities. Support residents in securing independent housing as they transition out of the program. Maintain accurate client files, logs, and other program documentation. Work collaboratively with NSDP staff and community partners. Maintain confidentiality and professional, respectful relationships at all times. Qualifications Applicants should have: Grade 12 completion. A degree in a related field and/or a combination of relevant training and experience in social service delivery. Training and/or experience in areas such as crisis management, counselling, safety planning, suicide intervention, and intimate partner violence. The ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively with community organizations and service providers. Strong communication, teamwork, organizational, and interpersonal skills. A compassionate, respectful, and non-judgmental approach to supporting women and families. Due to the nature of the services provided and the needs of the women and children served by this program, being a woman is a bona fide occupational requirement of this position. This requirement is made in accordance with the British Columbia Human Rights Code.
