COMPONENT TECHNICIAN- Sawyer

Nu-Fab is looking for an energetic, and driven Sawyer for our Saskatoon location. The successful candidate will be responsible for timely and accurate cutting of lumber materials for truss production. ACCOUNTABILITIES * Thorough complete organization of lumber materials, the cleaning/disposal of waste and protection of materials is required on a routine basis. * Checking grade, size, and quality for lumber before cutting and markings that indicate lumber type and length. * Regular inspection and maintenance as required for tools and machinery. * Ensuring flow of lumber in and out of the saw area meets production expectation * Adhere to safety, quality assurance and standard operating procedures and policies. * Other duties as assigned by your manager. QUALIFICATIONS * Strong computer skills will be considered an asset * Previous experience operating a computerized saw. * Understanding of grading and quality of lumber * Experience accurately operating power/air tools, use an imperial tape measure and have basic math skills. * Physically able to lift up to 50lbs throughout the day. * Ability to read, write and understand English. * Steel-toed work boots and appropriate clothing to work outside are required WORKING CONDITIONS * Required to work in dusty conditions * Standing for long periods of time * Working a noisy atmosphere We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes health and dental coverage, a company pension plan, and paid time off.
