Position Scope The Nuna Group of Companies is now accepting resumes for Crusher Operators with large earthworks construction projects experience. Nuna is the largest Inuit-owned heavy civil construction, earthworks, and mine construction contractor in Canada. We offer:• 3 week on / 3 week off rotations• Fly in and Fly out • Competitive hourly rate with Overtime pay at (1.5x)• Commercial flights and accommodations are covered Responsibilities RESPONSIBILITIES: • Operates console to control conveyor system and crushing equipment• Operate tower and equipment as required• Ensures quality of materials being produced meets specifications• Pre-start safety inspections (Perform daily inspections on crushing equipment)• Communicate and direct work of grounds-person, crusher mechanic, and loader operator• Stops equipment and clears jams• Assist with maintenance as required• Communicates with supervisor regarding all aspects of crushing operations Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: • 2-3 years' experience with different crusher units• Experience assisting with changing screens, belts, rollers, jaw plates, cones, belt repairs, and other repairs related to crushing operations is an asset• Have experience on CAT loaders among other pieces of equipment working in mining, heavy civil construction, and road building environment• Must be able to operate power tools• General understanding of the principles of crushing and screening. Ability to interpret sieve test results and adjust equipment to produce in spec material• Able to adjust systems to optimize operations and meet specifications• Must be able to always maintain communications with all equipment operators• Capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment with good safety awareness• Experience with radio communications and protocolsNuna is committed to the principle of employment equity.
