Role Description This part-time on-site Registered Veterinary Technician role is based in Barrie, ON. The Registered Veterinary Technician provides hands-on support in patient care, including preparing and assisting with examinations, administering treatments, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring comfort and safety for pets. Daily responsibilities include performing technical procedures, supporting anesthetic monitoring, assisting in surgery, maintaining medical records, and ensuring a clean and organized clinical environment. The role also involves educating clients on pet health, post-procedure care, and preventive care recommendations, while collaborating closely with veterinarians and other team members to deliver cohesive, high-quality care. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Animal Care and Pet Care skills focused on handling, monitoring, and supporting the well-being of diverse species. Candidates should possess Veterinary Technology skills, including competency in clinical procedures, diagnostics, and anesthesiology support. Candidates should possess Client Education skills to explain treatment plans, home care instructions, and preventive health practices clearly and empathetically. 2-3 years as a RVT Surgery experience Effective communication, teamwork, and time-management abilities in a fast-paced clinical setting. Comfort with medical record systems and basic computer skills; experience in a small-animal practice is an asset. Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to animal welfare and safety standards.
