NXL Technologies focuses on reliable, responsive service and technical expertise to support safe and effective field operations. Role Description The BOP Tech is a full-time, on-site role based in Grande Prairie, AB. This position is responsible for assembling, testing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing blowout preventers (BOPs) and related pressure control equipment in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day activities include performing preventative maintenance, documenting service work, preparing equipment for deployment, and supporting recertification processes. The role also involves collaborating with operations and field teams, following safety procedures, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring that all work meets quality and performance expectations. Qualifications Technical skills in mechanical assembly, maintenance, and repair of BOPs or similar pressure control equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications, with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Knowledge of safety standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in oilfield or industrial environments. Experience with inspection, testing, and recertification processes for high-pressure equipment. Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills in fast-paced operational settings. Effective communication and teamwork abilities, including working with field crews, service teams, and supervisors. Comfort with physical tasks such as lifting, using tools, and working in shop or yard environments. Relevant technical certification or diploma in mechanical, industrial, or oilfield technology is an asset; prior experience in pressure control or coiled tubing/wireline operations is preferred.
