Flag Persons

O'Hanlon Paving and Fath Industries, are key players in the Edmonton, road construction industry for over 65 years. We are looking for Experienced Flag Persons to work seasonally in a full-time capacity, in various locations throughout Edmonton. The successful candidate must be able to align with the company's core values: Commitment, Attitude and Respect. Responsibilities: * Read and understand site specific instructions prior to directing traffic * Setup, reposition and dismantle traffic control signage * Protect workers and the public by keeping work space free of traffic, and warning oncoming traffic of potential hazards * Communicate effectively with other traffic control workers using established signals and radio equipment to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and minimize confusion * Maintain alertness at all times * Remove or cover all traffic control signage at end of day or when traffic control is suspended * Other duties as assigned * Possible out of town work Qualifications: * Minimum 2 years of experience as a flag person in a construction traffic control will be an asset * Through knowledge of the safe operation of the equipment is required. * Experience in the municipal road building industry is highly desirable. * Willingness and ability to work continuously for prolonged periods of time under pressure including holidays and weekends is required. * Must possess a valid class 5 driver’s license or above with a clean drivers abstract. * High attention to detail, strong communication skills and ability to follow directions is required. * Ability to work in varying weather conditions is required. * Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with little supervision is required. * Valid safety certifications Additional Information: * This position is eligible for over-time. * Some travel outside of Edmonton may be required. * Training will be provided for various activities. * We offer excellent wages and benefit eligibility after 3 months with the possibility of continuing your benefits during the winter months (off-season). The flag person is responsible for directing traffic safely at construction sites and setting up or dismantling traffic control signage. They must maintain constant alertness and communicate effectively with other team members to ensure a safe work environment.

Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in construction traffic control and possess a valid class 5 driver's license. The role requires the ability to work in varying weather conditions and for prolonged periods under pressure.
