About The Job: This is an individual contributor (IC) position, working on a broad range of features across the full stack. You will own & deliver features end-to-end using Ruby on Rails, React and similar technology You will set standards & best practices, and perform code review You will work with product, design and others to refine and iterate on specifications You will interface directly with our Customer Success team to understand customer pain points and improve the application. You will seek to understand the domain, user personas, problems they face, architecture of our product, and product roadmap About You: You are pragmatic, an excellent communicator, You are able to break down large problems into smaller ones You are comfortable anywhere in the tech stack You care about code quality, style and process You care deeply about the user experience You love to learn, and are humble enough to admit what you don't know You are self motivated - can work effectively without direction Have worked at a startup previously, or have a strong desire to work at one Requirements: 5+ years of professional web development experience with Ruby on Rails or a similar framework 2+ years of production experience in React (or Vue, Angular, Svelte, etc.) Experience modeling complex relational database schemas Experience with AI agents, LLMs, model evaluation, vectors/embeddings, etc. Have mentored junior developers and led teams (this is a leadership, not management role) Why Occupier is a great place to work: We offer competitive compensation packages We offer and contribute to excellent medical, vision, and dental plans Generous family leave policies are available We have an unlimited time off policy, as well as half-day Summer Fridays We have a remote first culture, and have offices in Toronto and Boston if you’d like to be in an office environment

Own and deliver full-stack features end-to-end using Ruby on Rails and React. Collaborate with product and design teams to refine specifications and interface with Customer Success to resolve user pain points.

Requires 5+ years of professional web development experience with Ruby on Rails and 2+ years of production experience in React. Must have experience with complex relational databases, AI/LLM technologies, and a history of mentoring junior developers.
