Cashier (part-time)

About the Role: As a part-time Cashier in Canada, you will play a crucial role in delivering excellent customer service by efficiently processing transactions and handling payments. Your primary objective will be to ensure a smooth and accurate checkout experience for customers while maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor. You will be responsible for managing cash registers and processing various payment methods. Additionally, you will assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and support other team members as needed. This role is vital in creating a positive shopping experience that encourages customer loyalty and satisfaction. Minimum Qualifications: * Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately. * Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. * Strong communication skills in English. * Legal eligibility to work in Canada. Preferred Qualifications: * Previous experience in a retail or cashier role. * Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems. * Bilingual abilities, especially in French and English. * Customer service training or certification. * Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities: * Greet customers warmly and provide prompt, courteous service at the point of sale. * Accurately scan and process purchases, returns, and exchanges using the cash register system. * Handle cash, credit, debit, and other forms of payment securely and efficiently. * Assist in restocking shelves and keeping the checkout area clean and organized. * Address customer inquiries and resolve minor issues or escalate them to management when necessary. * Follow all company policies and procedures related to cash handling and customer service.

The cashier is responsible for processing customer transactions accurately and managing various payment methods at the point of sale. They also assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the checkout area and providing prompt, courteous service to all customers.
