Job Summary: The Fire Alarm Systems Supervisor is responsible for the administrative management, planning, and operational oversight of activities related to fire alarm and security systems across the real estate portfolio. In this role, they lead a team of CCQ technicians, manage subcontractors, oversee budget tracking, and ensure strict compliance with applicable standards (ULC, NBC, NFC). Primarily focused on administration and project management, they conduct occasional job site visits to validate work quality and serve as a technical resource for complex situations. The position reports directly to the Director of Safety and Fire Prevention. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Administrative & Budgetary Management: Manage compliance files, ULC logs, and inspection reports. Prepare work estimates, contribute to budget planning, and oversee the administrative tracking of subcontractor contracts and invoices. Team Management (CCQ Personnel): Supervise, evaluate, and mentor the team of CCQ technicians. Manage schedules and timesheets, ensuring compliance with CCQ standards and OHS (SST) regulations. Operational Supervision & Site Visits: Plan inspection and maintenance schedules. Conduct occasional job site visits to inspect work quality, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to standards and deadlines. Monitoring Portals & Project Oversight: Manage the administrative upkeep of monitoring portals. Analyze service reports, recommend necessary corrective actions, and coordinate administrative on-call rotations. Compliance & Technical Support: Ensure strict compliance with applicable codes and standards (NBC, NFC, ULC, CCQ). Provide technical and decision-making support during complex situations or emergencies. SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS Education: Vocational diploma (DEP) in installation and maintenance of security systems (CCQ – Code 222), College diploma (AEC/DEC) in fire prevention or business administration, or equivalent experience. Certifications: Fire alarm technician certification (CFAA/ACAI), valid Bureau de la sécurité privée (BSP) license, and a valid driver's license (occasional travel required). Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the fire alarm industry, including at least 2 years in team supervision (ideally with CCQ personnel) and administrative coordination. Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of ULC standards, National Building Code (NBC), National Fire Code (NFC), and CCQ regulations. Experience with Mircom and Bosch systems is an asset. Key Competencies: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint), strong organizational skills, administrative rigor, leadership, and priority management.
