Position: Independent Contractor Role: Part-time, Casual Pay: CA$32.00-CA$38.00 per hour Location: In-person About Us: One Rehab Inc. is a growing rehabilitation company providing innovative rehabilitation and support services to clients across Ontario. We work extensively with individuals recovering from motor vehicle accidents, traumatic and acquired brain injuries, catastrophic injuries, and other complex rehabilitation needs. Our team combines traditional in-person rehabilitation with innovative virtual services to improve accessibility, continuity of care, and functional outcomes for our clients. We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our growing rehabilitation team. Job description: The Occupational Therapy Assistant will work under the direction and supervision of Occupational Therapists to provide client-centred rehabilitation services designed to improve functional independence, participation, and quality of life. The OTA will assist with implementing OT treatment plans, providing therapeutic interventions, completing functional activities, supporting cognitive and executive functioning goals, and helping clients incorporate rehabilitation strategies into their daily routines. This role may involve virtual and/or in-person service delivery, depending on client needs and geographical location. Duties & Responsibilities Implement OT treatment plans under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist. Provide functional rehabilitation interventions based on established OT goals and recommendations. Assist clients with improving independence in activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs). Support cognitive rehabilitation and remediation activities, including attention, memory, organization, planning, problem-solving, and executive functioning. Provide cueing, prompting, coaching, and structured support to facilitate participation and independence. Assist clients with developing routines, habits, strategies, and compensatory techniques to improve day-to-day functioning. Support clients with community reintegration, social participation, leisure activities, and productivity-related goals. Assist with implementation of home programs and therapeutic activities. Reinforce strategies recommended by the Occupational Therapist and monitor client response and participation. Complete accurate, timely, and clinically appropriate session notes and service documentation. Document client participation, functional performance, progress, barriers, and response to interventions. Communicate relevant observations and changes in client presentation to the supervising Occupational Therapist. Participate in case conferences and team meetings as required. Maintain professional communication with clients, families, caregivers, OTs, PSWs, case managers, insurers, and other members of the rehabilitation team. Skills & Qualifications Diploma or degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) or equivalent rehabilitation-related education. Previous experience working as an OTA, rehabilitation assistant, therapy assistant, or in a related rehabilitation role. Experience working with individuals with brain injuries, neurological conditions, orthopedic injuries, chronic pain, or complex rehabilitation needs is an asset. Experience with cognitive rehabilitation or executive functioning interventions is an asset. Experience in the Ontario accident benefits / MVA rehabilitation sector is an asset. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong documentation skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team. Comfortable providing services virtually using technology. Ability to travel within the community for in-person services, where applicable. Vulnerable Sector Check may be required.
