POSITION: Engine Attendant (Replacement) DEPARTMENT: Rail Mechanical LOCATION: North Bay REFERENCE: 300-99-27 RATE OF PAY: $27.77 - $30.88/hour (Increases set out as per the collective agreement. ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT: The Engine Attendant will provide ongoing cleaning/labour services to the division in a safe and efficient manner. MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES: Cleaning/washing of railway equipment, coaches, parts and shop facilities. Operating locomotives, track mobiles and forklifts, turning switches, fueling, sanding and watering locomotives. Adapts to new methods, processes, material and equipment. Follows prescribed safety procedures including the use of safety clothing and equipment. May work various shifts including weekends and some work outdoors in adverse weather. Performs other related duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Secondary School Diploma or possess a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) Ability to pass the examination for Engine Attendants Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written) Excellent organizational and planning skills Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. Candidates must possess a Secondary School Diploma or GED and have the ability to pass the Engine Attendant examination. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills are required, along with the availability to work various shifts.
