The OUAC is seeking a Payroll Specialist for payroll processing and to contribute to other Finance Department operations, as required. The Payroll Specialist will report to the Assistant Manager, Finance and will be responsible for bi-weekly payroll processing, government remittances, month-end reconciliations, account analysis and other duties, as assigned. Job Responsibilities * Process bi-weekly payroll * Complete government remittances and reporting * Benefits administration and reporting * Reconcile payroll and benefits’ general ledger (G/L) accounts * Prepare T4s * Perform year-end audit tasks * Generate and balance university transfer payments * Execute other accounting and finance processes, as required Qualifications Sought * Business accounting diploma or equivalent * Current NPI PCP membership (proof of certification must be presented at the interview) * Minimum 3 years’ payroll experience * Sage 300, Canadian Payroll or UKG Canadian Payroll experience * Must be bondable Abilities/Skills for the Ideal Candidate * Strong work ethic, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills * Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills * High level of accuracy and attention to detail * Sound knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other software programs * Sage and UKG software experience considered an asset * Ability to work well independently and as a member of a team * Disciplined, organized and reliable work habits Hours of Work * Monday through Friday, 4.5 days per week (32 hours) * Hybrid remote work arrangements may be available after the probationary period How to Apply Qualified applicants are invited to apply to “Job 280” by midnight, August 23, 2026.
