Who We Are Metrolinx’s GO Expansion program is delivering more GO service across the network, including the capacity to deliver two-way service every 15 minutes or better on core routes. Work is already underway on new track, station renovations and infrastructure upgrades on parts of the Lakeshore, Stouffville, Kitchener and Barrie lines. The investment will generate thousands of new jobs and economic opportunities across the region. The ONxpress Civil Joint Venture is comprised of Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc. and FCC Canada Ltd. This multidisciplinary team leads the delivery of civil and track works, leveraging global expertise to introduce innovative solutions across the GO Transit network. What You'll Do As a Design Coordinator, you’ll support all aspects of design management and coordination across the project. As ONxpress transitions into an Alliance delivery model for Major Civils, you will help ensure design outputs meet requirements for safety, quality, performance, schedule, scope, and cost. You’ll work closely with an integrated team, including our construction, delivery partners, consultants, and Metrolinx, to support day-to-day design coordination. This role offers strong exposure to Alliance delivery, ajor civil works, and client-side design governance, with opportunities for growth into senior design management roles. Key Responsibilities · Facilitate technical workshops and meetings, including preparation of agendas and documentation of meeting minutes and action items. · Coordinate submittals, RFIs, conformance/compliance comments, and design documentation across disciplines (construction/delivery, environmental, permitting, property) and with Metrolinx and third‑party reviewers. · Proactively identify, monitor, mitigate, and escalate risks and issues impacting project success. · Develop and maintain dashboards and visual trackers to monitor project progress, issues, RFIs, and correspondence. · Collaborate with the Integrated Digital Delivery team to enhance digital processes supporting estimating and construction activities. · Support and facilitate constructability reviews of design packages in close collaboration with the Construction/Delivery team and interfacing with projects/entities. · Foster a collaborative environment between the construction and design teams, helping resolve issues raised by the construction team. · Support project progress by completing, assigning, and monitoring day‑to‑day tasks and providing updates to management. · Work with a multidisciplinary team of employees, delivery partners, consultants, and contractors to ensure high‑quality project execution and oversee daily coordination activities. · Support interface management between design packages, construction sequencing, third‑party utilities, and external stakeholders. · Support the management of design changes, including tracking impacts to scope, cost, schedule, and risk. What You’ll Bring · University or College Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline. · 4+ years of experience in design coordination or project coordination/management, preferably on major, complex infrastructure projects. · Experience in civil work and project delivery is required; transportation sector experience (rail & transit, aviation, ports) is a strong asset. · Strong organizational and communication skills. · Professional designations such as P.Eng., PMP, Architect, or RPP are assets; candidates with preliminary credentials who are working toward their professional designations (e.g., EIT, CAPM) are encouraged to apply. · Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, multi‑stakeholder environment with competing priorities. Expected compensation for this role is between $70,000.00-85,000.00 annually. Base salaries are determined according to multiple factors including skills, experience and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into consideration.
