The Opportunity Due to continued growth, our client is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to work directly alongside their Vice President of Operations. This is a hands-on leadership role designed to support day-to-day management of terminal operations, carrier relationships, and service delivery — allowing senior leadership to focus on strategic priorities. If you thrive in a fast-paced transportation environment and know how to lead teams, solve problems quickly, and drive operational performance, this role is for you. What You'll Be Doing Oversee daily freight operations across assigned terminals, ensuring on-time pickup and delivery performance Act as a key point of contact for terminal supervisors, dispatchers, and carrier partners — resolving escalations and keeping freight moving Monitor KPIs including on-time performance, claims ratio, load utilization, and cost per shipment — taking corrective action where needed Support the VP of Operations in planning, scheduling, and capacity management across the network Lead and develop frontline operations teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement Coordinate with customs, compliance, and cross-border teams to ensure smooth Canada–U.S. freight movement Identify inefficiencies in current processes and implement solutions that improve throughput and reduce costs Support the onboarding of new terminal locations and carrier partnerships as the network expands What We're Looking For 5–8+ years of experience in LTL, trucking, or freight operations — cross-border experience is a strong asset Proven track record leading operations teams in a multi-location or terminal-based environment Strong understanding of LTL freight, dispatch, and carrier management Comfortable with TMS platforms and operational reporting tools Exceptional communicator — able to manage up to senior leadership and down to frontline staff equally well A natural problem-solver — calm under pressure, decisive, and solutions-oriented Knowledge of Canada–U.S. customs processes and cross-border compliance is an asset Why This Opportunity Direct visibility and access to senior leadership from day one A stable, well-established company with continued national growth Real opportunity to make an impact on a multi-terminal operation Competitive base salary, performance bonus, and full benefits package

Oversee daily freight operations across multiple terminals to ensure on-time pickup and delivery performance. Support the VP of Operations in capacity management, carrier relationships, and the implementation of process improvements to reduce costs.

Exigences

Requires 5-8+ years of experience in LTL, trucking, or freight operations, preferably with cross-border expertise. Candidates must have a proven track record of leading operations teams and proficiency with TMS platforms.
