Field Rebar Fabricator

In business for over 50 years, Ocean Steel’s Rebar Division cuts, bends and installs reinforcing steel for poured-in-placed concrete work. Ocean Steel Rebar’s plant capacity is currently 10,000+ tons. Estimating, detailing, shop scheduling, tagging and shipping is performed using a computerized production management system. Rebar shop drawings are prepared using the latest 3D CAD technology to CSA, CRSI and ASTM specifications. Rebar is installed using in-house or subcontracted field crews depending on the project requirements. Projects have been completed projects in various regions of Canada and Bermuda. Responsibilities * Assist in preparing construction sites for rebar installation. * Read and interpret blueprints to determine rebar placement and requirements. (Blueprint knowledge is not required to start) * Position and secure rebar, mesh, rods, and cables in concrete forms. * Tie rebar together using wire and pliers. * Ensure proper alignment and spacing of rebar and mesh. * Clean and organize work areas to maintain safety and efficiency. Requirements * This position requires you to travel to various locations - a car is required * Ability to lift, carry, and move rebar bundles (50 lbs) repeatedly throughout the day * This position requires a lot of bending, and repetitive tasks for extended periods * Tolerance for heat, cold, rain, snow, and other weather conditions * Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment As a member of the OSCO Construction Group, Ocean Steel & Construction Ltd. offers a comprehensive compensation package including health and dental coverage, life insurance and RRSP options. The field rebar fabricator is responsible for preparing construction sites and installing reinforcing steel, mesh, and cables into concrete forms. They must read blueprints to ensure accurate placement and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.

Candidates must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting 50 lbs and working in various weather conditions. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to different job sites are required.
