The System Administrator will provide application and hardware support to end-users. Specific emphasis is put on Internal IT resources including firewalls, switches, virtual servers, network attached storage and associated software and services. Under the direction of the Senior Systems Administrator, this position will act as a first line resource person and will provide application and hardware support to end-users. The Systems Administrator supports the overall availability of networked resources. What will you do? Provides orientation to new employees Resolves remote access connection difficulties Supports users in troubleshooting standard network appliance issues Troubleshoots general printer, network and connectivity issues Identify and troubleshoot network performance issues Perform routine maintenance and system updates. Provides basic management of office network infrastructure (cabling, patching, moves etc.) Respond to help desk tickets regarding VPN and wireless connectivity issues. Maintains a current and accurate inventory of all IT hardware worldwide Monitoring and management of data center equipment, such as servers, storage, compute and HVAC equipment to ensure maximum system health and up time Assist in global IT system management and administration, including VMWare, storage, Active Directory & Group Policy, backups & disaster recovery, Windows and systems patching Provide assistance to the Sr Systems Administrator to monitor and correct backups to ensure all site and corporate data is backed up and secured according to corporate retention policies Acquiring and maintaining vendor and site documentation pertaining to IT systems Support of file servers, managing and monitoring space, and using file permissions to ensure appropriate control to data Vendor liaison for support cases and escalations Research and recommend updates for current systems or processes, or new systems to add value to the IT environment Provides Tier I-II level IT customer support Must be available for 24x7 support in the event of scheduled and unscheduled downtime What will you bring? 2 year College Diploma or Business School diploma or equivalent. 2-5 year working experience in an IT Systems and Network support role. Strong problem solving/analytical/critical thinking skills; Self-starter with excellent organizational, administrative and interpersonal skills; Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment; Ability to follow through with tasks, projects and troubleshooting, Excellent oral and written, and communication skills, Previous experience with EPM (Endpoint Privilege Management) tools such as Beyond Trust. Knowledge and Experience in the following IT Infrastructure technologies and systems: Active Directory, Group Policy & Windows Server Storage (SAN) administration (Pure Storage) VMWare ESX and vSphere Disaster Recovery, Backups and archiving (VEEAM) PowerShell & scripting in Active Directory and Windows Microsoft Windows Server, DNS, DFS, DHCP, print servers, WSUS External DNS tools and management (Network Solutions) Utilizing and optimizing monitoring and alerting tools (PRTG) Understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routing and DHCP Strong understanding of Windows 11 and Windows Server environments M365 tenant administration Sophos firewalls General Management of VPN systems with 2-Factor Authentication (Management of Smart Cards) Ability to produce, update and maintain systems documentation Understanding of industry standard business software applications such as MS Office, Outlook configuration, anti-virus and malware an asset. Understanding of network printing and functions of all-in-one printers an asset. Understanding of industry best practices regarding information security an asset; knowledge of hardware and software configuration and support an asset Basic understanding of the principles of an ISMS based on ISO 27001 A focus on Customer service, and a drive to maintain and improve it Why work for OSI?
