Le Phare, meaning "beacon" or "lighthouse" in French, was the first school in Canada to be built as an Early French Immersion centre. LePhare is situated on an exceptionally large field, surrounded by a forested area. The Forest area has been used for science exploration. In the winter, students have enjoyed snowshoeing. The school operates with a Balanced School Day timetable. This schedule divides the day into three blocks of instructional time with two recess/nutrition breaks replacing the traditional two recesses and lunch hour, reducing the time spent in transition between instructional blocks of time. The teacher will deliver instruction in French, Science, Social Studies, Health, Physical Education, and Arts for Grade 1 EFI students. They are expected to create a positive, inclusive school climate and support the board's strategic plan for student success.

Candidates must hold an OCT Primary Divisional Qualification and FSL Part 1. Special Education qualifications are considered an asset.
