Posting Close Date: 09/23/2026 This position will be based in our Calgary office and is available for a 4-month term starting in May 2027. Required Qualifications Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness throughout each task. Coachable and open to feedback, with a genuine drive for continuous improvement. Self-starter with a strong work ethic, comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Effective verbal and written communication skills, able to communicate clearly and professionally across various levels and teams within the organization. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with a willingness to learn new tools and systems as needed. Currently in second or third year of Accounting or related degree. Preference will be given to students working towards completion of prerequisites for admission into the CPA program after graduation. Experience with data analytics or automation tools is considered an asset. Accounting summer students will gain valuable experience in various aspects of oil and gas accounting, such as production/revenue, capital, regulatory, financial reporting, internal audit, accounts receivable and tax. We support our Accountants! Ovintiv’s Pre-Approved CPA Program provides its CPA candidates with practical work experience required to meet the CPA designation experience requirement. The program includes opportunities to rotate to Internal Audit, External Reporting, Corporate Reporting, Operations Accounting and Treasury. In addition to reimbursing course expenses, Ovintiv also supports candidates by providing a team of experienced CPA mentors and offers a competitive study leave to write the CPA Exams. Hiring Hourly Range: $22.81-$31.59 CAD Compensation may vary and will be determined by year in school and placement location.
