SOUTHLAND Transportation has a current opening for an Apprentice Mechanic (Automotive or Heavy Duty) to join our operation in Saskatoon – 2nd, 3rd and 4th Year levels considered. Why You Should Choose SOUTHLAND * Competitive hourly wage: 2nd Year - $31.50, 3rd Year - $36.00, 4th Year - $40.50 * Employee Benefits Plan (after 3-month probation) * Rewarding and positive work environment * Ongoing training and development * Opportunity for advancement * Employee recognition programs * Annual tool and boot allowance (pro-rated from start date - available in the last quarter of the year and each subsequent year) Key Responsibilities * Ongoing maintenance/repair of buses * Diagnose equipment problems * Respond to breakdowns * Spring and winter maintenance * Complete all documentation associated with equipment repairs * Work with shop management to maintain schedules and priorities * Follow SOUTHLAND procedures and guidelines Requirements * Registered Apprentice Mechanic (Automotive or Heavy Duty); 2nd, 3rd and 4th Year levels considered * Clear criminal record * Own hand tools * Valid driver’s license (Class 2A ideal) * Fluent in written and spoken English * Analytical and troubleshooting skills * Computer proficiency * Some overtime/weekend availability is required based on business needs
