Since 1998, the firm has managed investments for high-net-worth individuals, family trusts, foundations, corporations, and family offices. Palisade offers a complementary suite of investment funds with growth, income, and capital protection mandates, supported by comprehensive wealth management services including financial planning, portfolio design, and estate planning advice. Using an open-architecture framework, the firm builds customized portfolios from a broad universe of investment options. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Portfolio Manager role based in Calgary, AB. The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for managing discretionary investment portfolios, aligning asset allocation and security selection with client objectives, risk profiles, and firm guidelines. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting fundamental and quantitative research, monitoring markets and economic trends, executing trades, and managing portfolio risk. The role also involves preparing and presenting portfolio reviews, collaborating with the wealth management team on financial and estate planning considerations, and contributing to investment committee discussions. The Portfolio Manager will maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, clear reporting, and a focus on long-term outcomes. Qualifications Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret financial statements, macroeconomic data, and market research. Solid foundation in finance, including capital markets, asset allocation, and risk management concepts. Demonstrated experience in portfolio management and investments, with a track record of managing diversified portfolios. Experience with trading, including order execution, best execution practices, and familiarity with trading platforms. Relevant professional designation (e.g., CFA, CIM) or progress toward one is strongly preferred. Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, economics, business, or a related field. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to a range of clients. High ethical standards, sound judgment, and a client-first mindset aligned with a fiduciary duty. Proficiency with portfolio management systems, research tools, and Excel; experience with performance attribution is an asset. Ability to work collaboratively in a small, high-performing team and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
