Senior Corporate Counsel Parallels is seeking an energetic, self-motivated and team-oriented in-house attorney to join our equally energetic, self-motivated, and team-oriented Legal Department. As a key member of the Legal Team, you will work closely with our business and technical teams providing legal guidance on a variety of legal matters. What You Will Own Negotiating, drafting, and reviewing technology and commercial contracts, including software license agreements, customer / vendor agreements, SaaS / B2B agreements, distribution and reseller agreements; Working directly with the marketing teams in relation to their marketing initiatives and projects such as reviewing and advising upon all promotional material; advising on sales promotions; advising generally on topical legal issues such as comparative advertising, image rights/endorsements, sweepstakes and competitions, and the use of and interaction with all forms of social media; Assist with ongoing and regular reviews of standard form documentation across the business; Assist with the development and implementation of education and training programs on topics where colleagues should be aware of the legal background or context; Provide full spectrum product counseling - from the development of new products and services to end of life; Spearheading corporate and legal projects; Working closely with internal stakeholders to support their objectives, and identify and manage legal risks relating to those needs and that of the business; Supporting the management of legal priorities and business objectives, including M&A; Establishing and developing relationships with internal and external business partners and colleagues; Responding to ad hoc legal queries from the business and providing timely and appropriate legal solutions; and Other related legal activities of importance to our business. What You Need for Success Required Qualifications Law Degree from an accredited law school and a certificate of good standing; Strong academic credentials; 5-9 years of work experience, both in-house at tech companies and at a reputable, nationally-recognized law firm; Focus in commercial law and technology / licensing transactions; Solid understanding of cloud and software technology; Strong and effective negotiating and drafting skills; Common sense and business acumen; Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams (sales, engineering, marketing) An entrepreneurial and resourceful attitude; Ability balance and manage multiple time-sensitive tasks simultaneously, think and communicate clearly under pressure, and thrive with minimal supervision; Superb attention to detail; and A sense of humour, fun, and a love of creative technology. Additional Qualifications Experience working with Salesforce, Jira, and Agiloft; Working knowledge of US, Canadian, and EU privacy, data and AI regulations; and Experience working with a company with a global presence. Bonus Points Corporate law experience; and Employment law experience.
