You know the particular quiet of the week before a major submission, and you know what it takes to reconcile several partners’ positions into one defensible estimate without losing the competitiveness of it. The successful candidate will have the following: A career in heavy civil estimating and preconstruction, with leadership responsibility on major pursuits Pricing experience across alternative and progressive delivery models, not hard bid alone Command of major project scale, where the pursuit runs for months and the estimate is a team effort The confidence to defend a number to an executive group, and the judgement to know when to walk away from one A genuine interest in developing the estimators around you You are motivated by influence and impact, and you want your next move to be somewhere the work, and the people doing it, are worth committing to. About the Job What’s On Offer? Estimating leadership across the firm’s major project pursuits and preconstruction work Real influence on pursuit strategy, risk appetite and the work the business commits to Close working relationships with ownership, operations and the field Exposure across the whole business, and the standing that comes with it Hybrid working possible from a GTA head office, with travel to sites, partner offices and pursuits as the work demands Salary: $180,000 - $230,000 In broad terms, you will lead the estimating effort on major pursuits from early opportunity assessment through to commercial close and handover: directing internal and partner estimating resources, developing risk-informed pricing, running the review process, and presenting the position to leadership and joint venture governance.
