Patan Heating & Air Ltd. is a locally owned and growing HVAC contractor serving Penticton and the South Okanagan. We specialize in residential and commercial HVAC systems, including high-efficiency, high-performance, and Net Zero mechanical systems. We are currently seeking an experienced HVAC/R Journeyman Technician to join our team. We are looking for a motivated individual who takes pride in their workmanship, has strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities, communicates professionally, and works well both independently and within a team environment. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of residential and commercial projects while gaining exposure to advanced HVAC technologies and specialty mechanical systems not commonly seen throughout the industry. Position Responsibilities * Install, troubleshoot, repair, and service residential and commercial HVAC equipment * Perform diagnostics, system evaluations, and preventative maintenance * Service and maintain furnaces, heat pumps, mini-splits, air conditioners, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems * Interpret error codes, identify system deficiencies, and provide effective repair solutions * Communicate findings and repair recommendations clearly and professionally with customers * Assist with quoting repairs, ordering parts, and coordinating service requirements * Maintain accurate job notes, timesheets, and project documentation using company software and technology * Provide administrative support required for successful project and service completion * Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable codes and company standards * Maintain clean and professional work areas and company vehicles * Work collaboratively with apprentices, installers, office staff, and project managers Qualifications * Journeyman Refrigeration Mechanic certification required * Red Seal Certification considered a strong asset * Valid Class 5 BC Driver?s License with clean abstract * Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities * Ability to work independently and manage time effectively * Professional communication and customer service skills * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail * Ability to use technology for scheduling, job notes, timesheets, and communication Qualifications Considered an Asset * Class B Gas Fitter License * Commercial HVAC experience * Experience with VRF systems, mini-splits, and heat pump technologies * Controls and BAS experience * Experience with high-performance or Net Zero construction What We Offer * Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications * Company work truck and fuel card * Full extended health benefits after 3-month probation period, including medical, dental, and vision coverage * Tool replacement program * Diverse residential and commercial project work * Opportunity for continued professional development * Supportive and team-oriented work environment * Long-term career opportunity within a growing company Compensation will be based on the applicant?s experience, certifications, skillset, and overall industry knowledge.
