Pathways To Growth also collaborates with families, caregivers, and community partners to promote inclusion and long-term success for participants. Role Description This is an on-site volunteer role located in the Regional Municipality of Peel, ON. Volunteers support adults with developmental disabilities in practicing literacy and life skills through guided activities, one-on-one assistance, and small group sessions. Day-to-day tasks may include helping participants with reading and writing exercises, basic numeracy, and practical skills related to work, home, and community settings. Volunteers also assist with preparing learning materials, encouraging participation, and providing patient, respectful support in a structured environment. The role involves collaborating with staff to follow program guidelines and ensure a safe, inclusive learning space. Qualifications Ability to communicate clearly, listen actively, and provide constructive feedback in a supportive manner. Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with adults with developmental disabilities. Strong organizational skills and reliability, including punctuality and consistency in attendance. Comfort facilitating or supporting group activities and one-on-one learning interactions. Willingness to learn program-specific approaches and follow guidance from staff and coordinators. Previous experience in education, social services, or disability support is an asset but not required. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to organizational policies and safety procedures.
