PBX Engineering is looking for a Design Engineer to assist our Transportation team in delivering projects in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. About The Role Working closely with senior engineers, the Design Engineer will be an active member of the Transportation team, with responsibility for project tasks in the following areas: Perform client liaison and project management to support efficient and effective project delivery Participation in design development and design review meetings with clients and other stakeholders Preparation of electrical designs for traffic signals and lighting Preparation of calculations and simulations Preparation of design documentation, including drawings, cost estimates, and construction specifications Performing construction services and site inspections Performing system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting Other duties as may reasonably be assigned Efficient and effective implementation of all the above, undertaken in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner. Qualifications Core Qualifications The preferred and required skills of a successful candidate are listed below: Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university, or diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology program or equivalent from a recognized technical institute. Eligible for registration or registered with EGBC as an EIT or AScT with ASTTBC Strong oral and written communication skills Effective interpersonal skills Eagerness to learn and a positive, professional attitude Able to effectively deal with a high level of responsibility and demanding work schedule Strong computer skills including good working knowledge of the MS Office suite Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, where demands and deadlines shift frequently A professional demeanor Desirable Qualifications Beyond the core skills, there are particular qualifications that will set you apart. The successful candidate will likely have most or all of the following qualifications: Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code Experience with traffic simulation and modelling using Synchro Experience with AutoCAD Experience with AGI Experience or general understanding of outdoor electrical systems such as street lighting, site lighting, path lighting, and traffic signals Genuine desire to make an impactful contribution to a place where you yourself can build a long term career Compensation The range of compensation for this position is $60,000 to $80,000. This salary range is provided specifically for compliance to provincial legislation. The actual salary will depend on the skills, experience, and capabilities of the successful candidate relative to the role and may or may not land within the range specified above.
