This role prepares detailed design drawings and material take-offs for standard projects and, with experience, may support custom designs under the supervision of the Engineering Manager or Lead. Over time, the Designer may attend customer meetings, build direct relationships, and provide technical support to ensure project success. What you'll do on a typical day: Develop formwork, shoring, and scaffolding solutions for a variety of construction projects. Produce general arrangement, assembly, and steel fabrication drawings in both 2D and 3D. Collaborate with PERI Technical Sales Consultants to deliver cost-effective and practical solutions. Communicate directly with customers to clarify requirements and design expectations. Work with internal and external professional engineers to ensure compliance with CSA, OHSA, and applicable building codes. Perform and document design calculations using PERI’s structural analysis tools. Prepare accurate material lists and verify lists prepared by others. Maintain engineering documentation in accordance with the Quality Management System and Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP). Mentor and assist Engineering Interns, Draftspeople, and junior Designers. Conduct jobsite visits and provide technical support as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned. What you'll need to be successful: Degree in Civil Engineering, diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 0 - 3+ years of experience in structural engineering or construction. Experience with structural analysis software is an asset. Knowledge of formwork or scaffolding design preferred. Familiarity with structural and architectural drawings and construction sequencing. Understanding of Canadian and Provincial Building Codes and Standards is an asset. PERI product knowledge and bilingual proficiency (English/French) are assets. Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle may be required.
