Overview Posted: July 14, 2026 The Legal Assistant provides essential administrative support to the Wills & Estates team within the Corporate Department. This role supports both estate planning, and estate administration matters while ensuring that administrative procedures are carried out effectively and maintaining a high standard of quality and client service. Support with corporate transactions may also be required. Key Responsibilities Prepare legal correspondence and documentation, including proofreading, editing and quality assurance. Draft Wills, Powers of Attorney and other documentation relating to estate planning and estate administration. Communicate professionally with clients and respond to client inquiries, ensuring timely follow-up and exceptional client service. Coordinate communication internally and externally via mail, email and telephone. Manage and maintain client files. Enter and maintain accurate daily dockets and assist with billing and account processing. Maintain the firm’s Wills Vault Safekeeping system. Organize and coordinate meetings, calendars and other administrative activities as required. Arrange travel and meal logistics for meetings and events, as needed. Assist with corporate transactions as required. Assist with various other projects and provide support to other departments as required Qualifications Education – A Legal or Law Clerk diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution, or a suitable combination of education and relevant experience. Experience – At least two (2) years of experience in a law office setting. Technical Proficiency – Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel. Experience with estate administration or Wills preparation software would be considered an asset. Communication Skills – Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Interpersonal Skills – Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships, with a professional and polished presentation. Skills Required Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work to meet competing deadlines. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and schedules. Exceptional attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Ability to exercise discretion when dealing with sensitive information. A positive, supportive and professional attitude.
