The Apprentice Technician is responsible for safely removing, preparing, and installing auto glass while ensuring proper fit and seal. They must also interact with customers to explain processes and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Responsibilities Removing damaged auto glass from vehicles safely and efficiently, which can involve dismantling parts of the vehicle. Cleaning and preparing the vehicles frame or window area for installation to ensure proper adhesion and sealing. Installing new glass or windshield using appropriate tools and techniques to ensure proper fit and seal. Testing the installed glass to ensure it meets safety standards and functions correctly, such as verifying proper alignment and ensuring no leaks. Interacting with customers to explain the installation process, answer questions, and provide recommendations for care and maintenance of the newly installed glass. Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines throughout the installation process to protect both themselves and customers vehicles. Keeping tools, equipment, and work area clean and well-maintained to ensure optimal performance and safety. Requirements Previous experience is not required; will start off in trainee capacity. Must pay attention to detail and be able to prioritize. Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 40 lbs) Valid in-state driver’s license and have/maintain an acceptable diving record. Must be able to engage with clients in friendly professional manner. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work independently Experience Technical background preferred Customer service experience Compensation: $21 per hour Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Required to stand, walk, and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
