Position Title: Environmental Information & Permitting Coordinator (Contract) Location: British Columbia, Canada Industry: Mining | Major Capital Projects Employment Type: Contractor | Multiyear contract Work Arrangement and Schedule: Location to be determined, with possibility of remote work and travel to site when needed. About the Opportunity Our client is seeking an experienced Environmental Information & Permitting Coordinator to support the development of a major new gold mining operation in British Columbia. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in establishing the environmental information management systems and processes required to support permitting, regulatory compliance and project execution for a major mine development. Working as part of the owner's Environmental & Compliance team, you will be responsible for enhancing, implementing and maintaining the environmental information systems that enable effective management of permits, approvals, commitments and regulatory obligations throughout construction and into operations. This role will work closely with environmental professionals, consultants, the Project/Construction Management (PCM) contractor and project leadership to ensure environmental information is accurate, accessible and effectively managed. This is a contract position expected to run for approximately 2 to 2½ years through construction and project completion. Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Manager, Environment & Compliance, you will provide specialized environmental information management support to the permitting and compliance team. Lead the enhancement, implementation and ongoing maintenance of environmental information management systems supporting the Environmental & Compliance team. Develop and maintain structured processes for tracking environmental permits, approvals, commitments, regulatory conditions and compliance obligations. Ensure environmental data and documentation are accurate, complete, organized and readily accessible to support project decision-making. Establish data management practices that improve consistency, reporting capability and regulatory readiness. Support the integration of environmental information from company personnel, consultants and project contractors. Develop dashboards, reports or tracking tools to support environmental permitting and compliance activities. Provide training and guidance to Environmental Coordinators and other project personnel on environmental information systems and processes. Maintain a strong working knowledge of project permits, approvals and regulatory commitments to ensure information systems accurately reflect project obligations. Support audit readiness and regulatory reporting requirements through effective information management practices. Identify opportunities to improve environmental processes through better data management, standardization and workflow improvements. Qualifications The ideal candidate will bring: Experience managing environmental information systems, permitting databases, compliance tracking systems or regulatory information management programs. Experience supporting environmental teams within mining, industrial, infrastructure or major capital project environments. Previous experience supporting a mine development or mine start-up project is considered a significant asset. Strong understanding of environmental permitting processes, regulatory approvals and compliance management. Experience developing systems, processes and workflows for environmental data management. Strong document control, database management and information organization skills. Experience training users and improving adoption of information management systems. Strong analytical ability with excellent attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively with environmental professionals, consultants, contractors and project leadership. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and environmental information management tools. Mining industry experience is highly desirable. Work Location & Schedule This position offers flexibility, with the primary work location determined jointly by the successful candidate and project leadership. Remote work will be considered, with occasional travel to the project site in British Columbia as required. The standard work schedule is 40 hours per week, with additional hours occasionally required during site visits or key project milestones. Why Join This Project?
