Position Title: Mine Infrastructure Construction Manager (Contract) Location: British Columbia, Canada Industry: Mining | Major Capital Projects Employment Type: Contractor | Multiyear contract Work Schedule: Starts in office and then site work on rotational basis (2x2 weeks and/or 4/3 days) About the Opportunity Our client is seeking an experienced Mine Infrastructure Construction Manager to join the owner's team during the development of a major new gold mining operation in British Columbia. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead the delivery of the critical infrastructure required to bring a new mine into production. Working on behalf of the owner, you will oversee the engineering, construction and successful execution of key infrastructure projects that will support the mine throughout its operational life. Initially focused on managing engineering consultants and advancing infrastructure designs, your role will transition into leading construction activities as the project moves into full execution. Candidates with previous experience delivering infrastructure on new mine developments or mine start-up projects will be particularly well suited to this opportunity. This is a contract position expected to run for approximately 2 to 2½ years through construction and project completion. Key Responsibilities Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will provide owner-side leadership for the planning, engineering and construction of major site infrastructure while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule and in accordance with the overall mine development strategy. Lead the engineering, construction and delivery of critical infrastructure supporting a new gold mining operation. Direct and coordinate external engineering consultants responsible for the design of major infrastructure facilities. Oversee the design and construction of: High-voltage transmission and power distribution systems; Electrical substations; Ore and waste conveyor systems; Industrial water treatment facilities; Other essential mine infrastructure Manage the transition from engineering and design into field construction and project execution. Ensure engineering deliverables, procurement activities and construction schedules support the overall project development plan. Coordinate closely with construction, operations, environmental and technical teams to ensure seamless project execution. Monitor project progress, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain schedule, budget and quality objectives. Ensure all infrastructure projects are executed in accordance with the highest Health, Safety and Environmental standards. Provide regular progress updates and strategic recommendations to executive leadership. Qualifications The ideal candidate will bring: 20+ years of experience leading the design, construction, operation and maintenance of large-scale mining or industrial infrastructure projects. Extensive experience delivering infrastructure for major mining, industrial or capital construction projects. Previous experience supporting a mine development or mine start-up is highly desirable. Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary engineering consultants and construction contractors on behalf of an owner. Strong technical knowledge of mine infrastructure including: High-voltage electrical systems; Electrical substations; Ore and waste conveying systems; Industrial water treatment facilities; Supporting mine infrastructure Proven experience leading projects from engineering and design through construction, commissioning and operational readiness. Experience working within EPCM, PCM or owner's project teams. Outstanding leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills. Work Location & Schedule The role will initially be based in Vancouver, British Columbia, with periodic travel to the project site during the engineering and early construction phases. As construction activities ramp up, the position will transition to a greater site presence, working either a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation or a 4 days on / 3 days off schedule, depending on project requirements. Travel will be provided from your point of residence. Why Join This Project?
