The Opportunity We're looking for an experienced Project Cost Controller to join our team. In this role, you will support the successful delivery of engineering and construction projects by managing project controls, cost tracking, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Working closely with Project Managers, Operations, Procurement, and Accounting, you'll help ensure accurate project setup, financial performance, and timely project reporting throughout the project lifecycle. What You'll Do Coordinate project setup, including work breakdown structures (WBS), budgets, cost codes, contract information, and project controls within Project Pulse and JDE Monitor project costs, budgets, commitments, and financial performance while identifying variances and supporting corrective actions Prepare client invoices, monitor billing milestones, and support accounts receivable activities in accordance with contract terms Review accounts payable transactions, purchase orders, and receiving reports to ensure accurate cost allocation and financial reporting Track purchase order commitments and reconcile committed costs against project budgets Perform trend analysis, forecasting, and variance reporting to support project planning and decision-making Support project change management by maintaining change logs, updating budgets, and establishing new cost codes and work orders Coordinate with Project Managers, Operations, Procurement, Accounting, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate project information and financial controls Maintain project documentation, reporting, and file structures while supporting continuous improvement of project controls processes Support multiple divisions while ensuring compliance with company procedures and project governance standards What We're Looking For 3+ years of experience in project controls, project cost control, or a similar role Experience supporting engineering, construction, EPC, or infrastructure projects Strong understanding of project budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, invoicing, and financial reporting Experience working with work breakdown structures (WBS), cost codes, purchase orders, and change management processes Experience with ERP or project management systems such as JD Edwards (JDE), Project Pulse, or similar platforms is considered an asset Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across Operations, Accounting, Procurement, and Project Management teams Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Ability to manage multiple priorities and support multiple projects simultaneously Why Phasor Engineering At Phasor Engineering, you'll have the opportunity to be part of some of North America's most complex utility, industrial, and infrastructure projects while collaborating with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.
