Future Opportunities – Document Controllers (Industrial Construction) Build Your Future with Phoenix Industrial Phoenix Industrial is building a talent pool of experienced Document Controllers to support upcoming industrial construction projects across Alberta and Western Canada. While positions are not currently active, we anticipate future opportunities as projects are awarded and ramp up. Qualified candidates will be added to our candidate call list and contacted as openings become available. These opportunities may include camp-based rotational assignments supporting major energy and industrial projects. Who We Are Phoenix Industrial is an Alberta-based industrial contractor with more than 30 years of experience in fabrication, construction, and maintenance across the energy sector. Based in Nisku, Alberta, our operations support module fabrication, structural steel assembly, pressure piping, and field construction projects for some of Western Canada's largest industrial developments. What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience and project requirements Camp accommodations for eligible site assignments Rotation-based schedules (project dependent) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Opportunities for long-term project work and future assignments A safety-focused and team-oriented work environment Key Responsibilities Maintain and control project documentation throughout all phases of construction, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements Manage document workflows including receipt, review, distribution, revision control, and archival of project records Generate, track, and distribute transmittals, document submissions, and revision packages to clients, vendors, and project teams Maintain document registers, revision logs, and controlled document tracking systems Coordinate the flow of engineering, quality, construction, and turnover documentation between internal stakeholders and client representatives Track and maintain Requests for Information (RFIs), change notices, field revisions, and project correspondence Ensure current revisions of drawings, specifications, procedures, and technical documents are readily available to project teams Support QA/QC and turnover teams by organizing, tracking, and compiling project records and close-out documentation Monitor document status and follow up with stakeholders to ensure documentation is submitted and processed in accordance with project schedules Assist with the preparation and completion of turnover packages, final project records, and client handover documentation Maintain confidentiality and integrity of project information while adhering to company and client document control procedures Qualifications Previous experience in Document Control, Turnover, QA/QC Administration, Project Administration, or a related project support role Experience supporting industrial construction, fabrication, oil and gas, petrochemical, energy, mining, infrastructure, or major capital projects is considered a strong asset Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint and experience managing electronic document control systems Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat and Bluebeam Understanding of document control principles including revision management, transmittals, document registers, retention requirements, and controlled document workflows Experience tracking and managing project documentation such as drawings, specifications, RFIs, change notices, inspection records, turnover packages, and project correspondence Familiarity with quality management systems, turnover processes, and project close-out documentation is considered an asset Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced project environment Excellent attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to maintain accurate and complete project records Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and vendors Self-motivated and capable of working independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive project information Willingness and ability to work rotational schedules and camp-based assignments when required Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company and client policies and procedures Interested in Future Opportunities?
