Résumé du poste

Sports Junkies / Athlete Hosts — Vancouver PickUp — playpickupsports.com Location: Vancouver, BC Type: Part-Time / Flexible / Contract Ideal for: Athletes, coaches, sports junkies, students, former competitive athletes, and people who are always trying to get a game going. About PickUp PickUp is building the easiest way to play sports. We’re launching playpickupsports.com in Vancouver — a platform where anyone can find, join, host, and organize sports happening around the city. Basketball. Hockey. Soccer. Volleyball. Tennis. Pickleball. Baseball. Golf. Running. Flag football. And just about anything else people want to play. We’re looking for energetic Sports Junkies and Athletes to help us get Vancouver playing. The Role This isn’t a sit-behind-a-desk job. You’ll help create the actual sports activity on PickUp by finding players, starting games, hosting sessions, testing new ideas, and building local sports communities. You might organize a basketball run one night, help fill a hockey session the next day, start a weekly volleyball game, or convince 20 people to try something completely new. Your job is simple: Get people playing. What You’ll Do - Host PickUp games, sessions, leagues, tournaments and events - Initiate new sports activities around Vancouver - Recruit players through your own networks, social media and local communities - Help players create profiles and join PickUp - Find great courts, fields, rinks, gyms and other places to play - Build recurring communities around specific sports and locations - Welcome players and make sure events are fun, organized and inclusive - Take photos/videos and help create social content from events - Test the PickUp platform and give us constant feedback - Identify athletes, coaches and organizers who could become PickUp Hosts - Experiment with new sports, formats, pricing and events - Help us turn “Anyone want to play?” into an actual game Who We’re Looking For You probably: - Love sports - Play multiple sports or are deeply involved in one - Are the person who organizes games in the group chat - Know athletes, teams, coaches or sports communities around Vancouver - Aren’t afraid to talk to strangers - Can get people excited about doing something - Are reliable and show up - Understand social media and aren’t afraid to create content - Like startups and the idea of building something from the ground up - Prefer being at a rink, court or field over sitting in an office Competitive playing experience is great, but not required. Energy, initiative and the ability to bring people together matter more. Sports We’re Interested In Everything. Especially: Hockey • Basketball • Soccer • Volleyball • Pickleball • Tennis • Baseball • Softball • Golf • Lacrosse • Flag Football • Rugby • Running • Fitness • Racquet Sports And if there’s a sport we haven’t thought of yet, start it. Why Join PickUp? You’re joining at the very beginning. The people who help launch PickUp in Vancouver won’t just be staff — they’ll help define what PickUp becomes. There are opportunities to: - Get paid to play and organize sports - Earn money hosting your own PickUp events - Build your own following and local sports community - Take on responsibility for a sport, neighborhood or market - Become a lead Host or City Manager - Help us expand PickUp beyond Vancouver - Potentially build a much bigger role as the company grows What We Care About Initiative > résumé. If you see an empty court and immediately think: “We could get 20 people playing here tonight.” We want to meet you. Apply Tell us: 1. What sports do you play? 2. Where in Vancouver do you usually play? 3. What sport or event would you launch first? 4. Why are you the person who can get people to show up? Learn more at playpickupsports.com PLAY MORE.
