THE OPPORTUNITY * Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild a variety of meat processing and packaging equipment including stuffers, smokehouses, chopper machines and high-speed packaging equipment. * Repair and complete preventative maintenance on high-speed processing and packaging equipment including PLC controlled equipment, conveyors, and vacuum pumps. * Inspect and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems. * Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery as required. * Remove and replace worn or defective parts. * Start machines and equipment to test operation following repairs and maintenance. * Responsible for maintaining food safety standards and report food safety issues to QA immediately. * Work in a safe manner in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act by reporting hazards, accidents and incidents. * Follow all prescribed SOPs, HACCP and GMP procedures. * Perform all other job-related duties as assigned. THE REQUIREMENTS * Industrial Millwright certificate or qualifications (433A or 426A) * 3-4 years of experience working in a manufacturing facility. * Knowledge and experience working with high-speed equipment * Knowledge and experience working with pneumatic and hydraulic components * Read, write and communicate (English) * Proficient mathematical and computer skills * Mechanical aptitude with a good knowledge of standard tools, materials, methods and trade practices * Ability to lift 60lbs and work in a cold environment * Ability to work with minimal supervision * Good communication and organizational skills * Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively We would like to thank all applicants for their interest; however only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
