Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Urban area. Convenience store. Gas bar. Tasks: Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages. Recruit, hire and supervise staff and/or volunteers. Record and balance daily transactions. Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters. Inspect sites or facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness standards. Establish work schedules. Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards. Authorize payments by cheque. Assign sales workers to duties. Calculate daily/shift payments received and reconcile with total sales. Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers. Organize and maintain inventory. Receive and issue payments. Hire and train or arrange for training of staff.
